Every Dollar Makes a Difference

Fundraising is at the heart of every Variety motoring event.
Every dollar you raise helps empower South Australian children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disability to live without limits.

Whether you're aiming to raise your minimum fundraising target or setting your sights even higher, there are plenty of fun and easy ways to get started.

Remember, people don’t just support a cause — they support the passion and purpose behind it. Share why you’re taking on the challenge, celebrate your progress and don’t be afraid to ask for support.

Top Tips
Every dollar you raise makes a difference in the lives of South Australian kids.

Set a Big Goal!

Don’t be afraid to aim high! People love supporting a big challenge, and setting an ambitious target will motivate both you and your supporters. Plus, the more you raise, the more impact you’ll have. Break your goal into smaller milestones and celebrate each one to keep the momentum going! The best way to kick off is to make a personal donation to your page!

Start Early

The sooner you start fundraising, the more time you have to reach (or even exceed) your goal! Begin by setting up your fundraising page and sharing it with your friends, family, and colleagues. But don’t stop there - people often need reminders before they donate. Keep sharing your journey with regular updates, whether it’s about your fundraising progress or why this cause matters to you. The more people see your passion, the more likely they are to support you!

Tap Into Your Network

You’d be surprised how many people want to support you - sometimes they just need to be asked! Reach out to friends, family, colleagues, sports teams, and even local businesses. Share why you’re taking on the event and how their donation can make a difference for kids in need. A heartfelt, personal message always works best.

Get Social

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok - whatever platform you use, get the word out! Post updates about your fundraising, share stories about the cause. A simple post with a donation link can work wonders, and don’t forget to thank your donors!

Plan a FUNdraiser

Sometimes people need a little extra incentive to donate. Hosting a BBQ, trivia night, raffle, car wash, or even a morning tea at work can be a great way to get donations rolling in. Make it fun, get people involved, and let them know every dollar is helping kids in need.

Ask Your Workplace

Many companies have donation matching programs, which means they’ll double any funds you raise! Ask your employer if they have a corporate giving initiative—it’s one of the easiest ways to boost your total. If they don’t, they might still be happy to make a one-off donation or let you run a fundraiser at work.

Say Thank you!

Never underestimate the power of a simple thank you! Whether it’s a quick text, an email, a social media shoutout, or even a handwritten note, showing appreciation goes a long way. Not only will it make your donors feel good, but they’ll be more likely to support you again in the future!
