Port Adelaide stars Connor Rozee and Miles Bergman brought smiles, laughter and a little football excitement to children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital this week, delivering Variety SA teddy bears donated at the 2026 Variety SA Gala Ball.
The special visit followed Variety SA’s annual Gala Ball, where generous supporters donated teddy bears to brighten the days of children facing illness and hospital stays. The players spent time meeting young patients and their families, handing out the cuddly bears and sharing plenty of laughs.
Port Adelaide midfielder Miles Bergman said it was a privilege to give back to families doing it tough.
“Variety do amazing work in the community with disadvantaged children and their families, so it’s really good to come here today and give back,” Bergman said.
“It’s really uplifting to see how positive and bubbly they are.”
The visit highlighted the power of community partnerships, with the teddy bears serving as a small but meaningful source of comfort for children during challenging times.
Variety SA extends its sincere thanks to everyone who donated teddy bears at this year’s Gala Ball. Thanks to your generosity, these special gifts are now bringing comfort, joy and smiles to children when they need them most.
Together, we’re helping kids just be kids.
