Adelaide Crows players Josh Rachele and Charlie Edwards have helped put smiles on the faces of children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, handing out Variety teddy bears.

The pair visited young patients this week, meeting families and delivering the cuddly teddy bears that were purchased by generous guests at the recent 2026 Variety SA Gala Ball.

Rachele said it was a privilege to spend time with the children and their families.

Seeing the strength and resilience these kids show every day is inspiring,” he said.

“We’re grateful to be able to bring a few smiles and spend some time with them.”

Variety SA Chief Executive Officer Mark McGill said the initiative was a simple but meaningful way to bring comfort and joy to young patients.

These teddy bears are a wonderful reminder that the community is thinking of these children and their families. We thank everyone who supported the Variety Gala Ball and made this donation possible,” he said.

The Showdown partnership, which has been in place since 2018, supports the work of Variety as well as positively impacting the Crows’ community programs.
