There will be a non-refundable registration fee of $275 per car and a participation fee of $1,795 is also charged. This covers accommodation, breakfast and dinner each day, and event merchandise.

Motorsport Fee: If you choose not do to Motorsport, this levy is not required. The motorsport levy is $875 per team and is non refundable.

There is a minimum of $6000 of donations per car to be fundraised to enter the event.

Fundraising cannot cover the registration fee, meals, accommodation or costs of your car, although it can be used for the $6,000 donation component and all donations raised are tax deductible. Individual accommodation, refreshments, merchandise, fuel costs, mechanical repairs, car shipping and other out of pocket expenses are at your own expense, and should be considered in your budget when preparing for the AMCR.

The most common way to raise money is through fundraising events (such as dinners, trivia nights, golf days etc.) and approaches to sponsors/supporters. Other ideas are included in the Entrants Manual available after entry is received. New ideas are always welcome and can be discussed with the Variety Events team.

Monies donated to Variety – the Children’s Charity are generally tax deductible under the Income Tax Assessment Act provided they qualify as an unfettered donation; that is, the donor can prove that they have received nothing of value in return for the donation.

WHAT IS NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Sponsors and entrants should accordingly be aware that the following ARE NOT deductible as donations. These costs are met personally by the entrants:

1. The $275 entry fee
2. Event Participation Fee (includes meals, merchandise, entertainment etc)
3. Accommodation costs
4.Vehicle purchase, preparation, maintenance and running costs
5. Additional merchandise purchases
6. Associated travel costs, for example, return airfares and accommodation, vehicle return transport or vehicle recovery costs
7. Ticket sales, including raffle tickets
8. Auction items

These comments are to be taken as guidelines only. Variety is not a tax consultant and therefore assumes no liability for actions taken as a result of these guidelines. In any instances where an entrant or a sponsor is uncertain of the tax implications of their involvement, they should consult their own accountant or tax adviser.

Cars must be insured and roadworthy as prescribed by State Laws. All vehicles will be scrutineered to confirm eligibility.

The AMCR stops at a variety of towns, large and small, along the way. Accommodation depends on what is available at each town and can be either cabin accommodation at caravan parks or hotel accommodation.

All teams must have two people – a driver and a co-driver. This is the maximum number of crew allowed, however special dispensation may be granted by the Event Chair. If a passenger is approved, the minimum fundraising amount will increase. e.g 3 people in a team = $9,000 in fundraising is required.

We’ll be there to help! The Aussie Muscle Car Run is backed up by a support crew including a team of qualified mechanics. If they can’t help you on the side of the road, the car will be transported to the nearest town at no charge. But, if the car cannot continue for the rest of the run then it’s the registrants responsibility, and at their cost, to take the car to their destination of choice.

From December 2023 this will automatically happen for you team when you register for one of our motoring events unless you request us to turn off this feature. If you wish to switch this option on or off please contact [email protected] to advise of the change to your current option.
